Would like to know if these fins are any good using with current conditions? Can they hold up with strong currents or not? Any experiences to share? They do seem ideal as a travel fin.

I have to admit the Mares Avanti Pure is not the best for current conditions. I recently took them to a liveaboard safari to the Maldives. In many of the dive sites with high currents, I was just struggling to keep up with the rest. That said, their size and weight is ideal for traveling, and in general great maneuverability in the absence of currents.

Also the bungee clip came loose at some point in the trip. It seems in the older ones it is a consistent issue and Mares has issued a new locking clip for the bungee cord. The authorized Mares outlet in the Maldives were able to change it for me.
