Hi, just bought a new regulator. Have a 4 year old Mares Abyss 22 with approximately 100 dives, serviced every year, most recently in May 2013.
The Mares Abyss 22 is the top-performing regulator, the technical product embodying latest underwater breathing innovations. Designed to meet the severe U.S. Navy specifications, the Mares Abyss has proven it can substantially exceed them.
The regulator first stage is the MR22 diaphragm, using a high pressu​re poppet designed for 2 year, or 200 dive service interval - doubling the standard seat life standard!
The Mares Abyss 22 just came in the number 2 spot as far as the best of the best regs according to Scuba Diving magazine - right behind a $1500+ reg! And at less than 1/3 the price!
This regulator has been serviced yearly (annual service just performed). Approximately 100 dives (mostly fresh water) and rinsed after each dive. Normal wear marks
