Hi there, can anyone offer me any advice on the Mares Icon bcd, I live in the uK and only like to dive on my Hols's haveing siad that I am still very seriouse about my diving, as we all know the taxes are rediculouse now with airlines so would like to cut down on the weight, I have always used the dive centres bcd (only) and would like to know how the Icon compares to maybe the Dragon or any comparative jacket.
Any advice would be much appreciated!!!!

Cheers

Hi Spd Freek,
Well without going into a big comparative, the Icon bcd is quite a bit lighter than the Dragon or other similar Jacet style bcd. Because the Icon is backinflate, this design requires much less material etc. In addition the Icon does not have a full backplate, which minimizes weight, but also more importantly allows the bcd to fold up into a small configuration for nice packing. You can see all of the specs and technical qualities at www.mares.com in the bcd section.

I hope this helps.

Best,

Zak
