i've just read a note from the skipper of 'Shadowfax' to say he not only saw a manta ray at Magic Wall, but was in the water at the time.

4m in size! bring on the classic kiwi summer ... with beautiful sea life.

Wow that must have been a very hungry snapper to eat a penguin and a whole pod of dolphins!! :rofl3:

That would be amazing, I agree. Sadly, there was some elapsed time between seeing the penguin and the dolphins! Although, to be honest, it wouldn't surprise me if the snapper chose dolphins as their next course!! The snapper eating the penguin was quite breathtaking (though perhaps a lot more so for the poor penguin!!)

Here's a vid of the dolphins. We saw seven but there were a couple feeding ahead of us and I reckon a few more below. Was awesome!
