Hello everyone!!!

I am going up north to Manitoba this winter to spend christmas with my partner's family and was wondering about ice diving in Manitoba....Haven't found much on the internet so I though maybe someone over here could give me some hints.

I have never dived with a dry suit or cold water, but the idea of diving under ice has always appealed to me!

Hope to hear from you.

Thanks

Ocean_Explorer,

I'm new to the board. Will be heading to Winnipeg for Xmas. Long range weather forecast looks good but you never know. The previous two Xmases were brutal (approx. -30C). Stay warm and enjoy your trip!

I realise this is a little late for ocean_explorer and VegBabe; however, there is a community Ice Dive happening at then end of March (2007) in West Hawk.

And deepdiverbc... in Manitoba you either are experienced diving with a dry suit or willing to dive with a wet suit in those temperatures. Ice doesn't make the water any colder... it just moves the thermocline up to the surface of the water.
