I'm working on a longer narrated piece but needed to do a Dive club presentation and edited a few clips together, it came out cute and thought i'd post it since it is the best time of year to go see Manatees in Crystal River.

They are such graceful gentile giants. We were on on a rough day, it was pouring rain, 20 degrees, and so windy our pontoon boat was getting blown around! We did manage to see a lot of manatee and get some nice video!

This is the best time of year to see Manatee, I suggest if you've never been down to see them, its worth the trip!

Enjoy!

Becky,

great video, I think when I go to visit my son in St. Marys, we will just have to take a nice road trip, and snorkel with them. I was gonna get him certified this summer, do you have any idea if they allow diving there? That place looks great for him to dive, till he gets comfortable diving!

Now I see why they call them the Mermaids, they are so graceful and fun matured, and you caught that on video. It was easy to see your video story! Keep up the good work.

That was alot of fun to watch, Thnx

Hey there,

There are plenty of places to stay out in Crystal River, its grown a lot in the past few years! As far as diving you can take him there and practice. Most of the 3 sister spring area is shallow maybe 15ft at the deepest. I see divers all the time but I prefer to snorkel just to get closer to the manatee. They dont care for the sounds of the bubbles. There is also Kings Spring that most divers visit.it's 30ft deep and if you want to venture into a small cavern there that goes about 50ft deep. You also see manatee and HUGE tarpon in that area, they are most impressive!

Its just a really fun place to take a few day trips or spend a weekend. There were over 100 manatee there a few weeks ago when we shot this. This is the best time of year to get out there and have an amazing experience.

Shoot Sea World charges $150 for 30 min with a dolphin and you get to pet it once, this is all day out in the wild petting tons of manatee and the cost is very low!

Hope you get out there! The mermaids are calling haha
