What the heck??? he is pushing his kid into the waves, he gets hit like a freight train knocking him up out of the water, grabs a rock while it tries to pull him in out to sea. And he comes out with what is easily described as a "nip" on the leg. ROTFLMAO. A 2 meter great white uh, carpet shark. Talk about a convoluted report. I have absolutely no idea what happened.

What total BS! Does nothing for the image of the sharks at all. Sometimes these "journos" have a lot to answer for

Cairns Discount Dive Trips - Australia Diving - Cairns and the Great Barrier Reef

:rofl3::rofl3:I have a clipping form the Sydney Morning Herald Jan 23-24, 2010
by Nicky Phillips titled Sharks set free, but swimmers can be tickled pink.

In it they are talking about releasing the captive bred Wobbies into Shelly and "The sharks, however, were wobbegongs, mostly docile bottom dwellers with little interest in humans - perhaps more likely to tickle you with their shaggy beards than seize your leg."

From the ridiculous to the sublime or is it the reverse

Scarey critters hm?

I don't know whether you guys saw the Channel 9 story on the release and the first images they showed were of Great Whites when the story was actually on Wobbie's. Absolute BS!The channel 10 and 7 stories were better though. The old saying of 'if it bleeds it reads' is still alive and kicking.

Did you see the news clip where they showed the Victim of the "attack" getting into his vehicle for his wife to drive him to the hospital... didn't even have the wound dressed and it was no longer bleeding!

Then they showed a clip from a chopper... saying they had gone to the air looking and located this shark close by... I swear it sure looked like a dolphin to us:dork2:

"Good" to know the press down under is as bad as ours here in the States when it comes to shark "attacks."

Same creatures all over the world.... don't let the truth get in the way of a good story! :shakehead:
