My girlfriend and I are going to Italy this summer and we are trying to pick a spot to dive. Wrecks are OK and all, but our primary interest is seeing the most variety of species we can. Is there anyone who's been to all 3 and might be able to suggest which they thought was best?
Malta, Ustica, or Portofino Marine Park?

Go to Ustica if you want to see fish. Malta is GREAT for wrecks and can't say much about Portofino other than I have heard its 'GOOD.' I haven't been to Ustica, but I am leaving to there tomorrow. I HAVE seen film of dives there and have NUMEROUS dives all over Malta. I can tell you that Ustica would be the best given the choice of Malta and Ustica. Based off your post you wanted to see FISH, not wrecks....
