I'm just about to go on another trip on the MV Sea Spirit in the Maldives so have been trying to finish off editing the video I took on the same boat last year. I enjoyed making them as it was a good reminder of how much I enjoy diving in the Maldives. Hope you enjoy them too.

Great shots - I am researching a trip to the Maldives and am just learning to use a new video setup. What editing software are you using? Do you recommend it for beginners who have never edited a video before?

Good point- that shows you how little I know about editing software. I have Windows 7 on a Dell Inspiron. I have tried free dowloads of Corel and Sony Vega and found them confusing. I am considering trying the Free downloads of Adobe Premiere Elements and Photoshop. I have a real need for color correction as you may recall from my earlier posts on other threads.

Shmuggy apologies for not answering earlier I've been away in the Maldives again - expect the video sometime in Oct 2012 going by how long it took me to get round to editing the last trip! As far as editing the footage goes I use Sony Vegas which was a bit daunting at first but I now find easy to use. I'm lucky as I have a pretty powerful PC and graphics card so that wasn't an issue for me. The reason I settled on Vegas is that at the time it was one of the few packages that could cope with the footage from my camera - so you probably want to check out compatibility with your current camera before you buy anything. Vegas does have a few colour correction tools - but as much as possible I try to custom white balance within the camera.

I showed your video to my husband and he really wants to go to the Maldives now too. Just have to save up the money and before I go there- I am going to work on my video shooting skill set in cheaper- easier to reach- locales. I have a Sony CX550. I hope this last trip was a great one for you.
