I would like to share my video from my Maldives deep south trip. I spent 10 days on the Carpe Diem (Trip report will follow).

I shot the video with a sony rx100m2 parts of it with a Inon wide angle lens which I unfortunately lost in the middle of the trip.

Very very nice video! 1'13" was my favourite bit, with the mantas crossing each other. You hold the camera so steady. I have a polite request, however: PLEASE can you do your trip report? I'm seriously considering the Carpe Diem as they offer 4 dives a day, but I'd be very grateful for any info you have regarding the boat/crew/itinerary etc.
Thanks!
Cheers,
Matt

Wow , what an excellent video , many many thanks for posting. You are a talented videographer !

We are also interested in a 10 day trip on this boat , to celebrate our 20th anniversary at Christmas 2017 , so would really appreciate any more information you have time to share.

Best fishes x

I will post a trip report hopefully this week. Just a thing or two ahead. We only did 3 dives a day on the carpe diem but I think on their sister ship the carpe vita they do 4 dives day. Also I think the 10-11 day deep south tours they only do a few a year.

Thx a lot Premo83, very helpful!
Cheers,
Matt

What an amazing trip man! Thanks so much for sharing the video. One question:

Why did you choose Deep South route? Can you not see the same marine life in the regular northern routes?

Carpe Vita is also only 3 dives per day on this itinerary.

I didn't do much research on the regular routes to be honest. I got asked to join this trip and just did a little research on the deep south route. When I read that you have a good chance to see lots of sharks and that you won't see many other dive boats down there I was in. In hindsight there were many sharks but I expected to see more. Still a very good trip.
