Thanks very much for your inquiries. They have a coating on the palm that is somewhat puncture resistant. The woven base material itself is very tough and has a high cut protection, but that is different than puncture resistance.
The thick padding that armours the gloves would be very protective of punctures, but it does not provide complete coverage, so you couldn't rely on that for protection.
These gloves will provide good manual dexterity, great cut resistance and some small degree of protection from spines. We know how seriously painful lionfish stings can be, so we don't want to over promise and ruin someone's day.
When handling lionfish, assuming that is something you choose to do, one of the best ways to pic a fish up is to put your thumb in the mouth and then grab the head or lower jaw. The head has some very sharp small spikes and I believe they are poisonous (or at least very irritating). The gloves will protect you from those.
