Hey Everyone-

I have a dive trip coming up in a month or two, and I also have a new magic filter to try on my D80 (with a Nikkor 18-55mm, 52mm filter mount)

My question is this: Should I put the magic filter on the outside (front) of the lens? Or should I tape it to the smaller back (inside) of the lens?

I currently have one 77mm size magic filter, so I can choose either one. I just wasn't sure if it made any difference (besides how you cut it down to fit).

Thanks!
Gordon

I don't think that I would try it on the back unless you have a slot for a filter slot back there (the Nikkor 10.5mm & Sigma 15mm do). Possiblity of the MF or some of the tape getting inside of your camera. I would mount it on the front with a clear screw-on filter or diopter. This is how I had to mount one on my Nikkor 12-24mm.
