Hi Guys,

Quite new to photography and currently have a S100 with ikelite housing and sea & sea ys-01 strobe (in Cornwalls, UK murky waters).

Any good new or second hand macro lenses recommended to fit the housing above? (complete newbie to lenses) i believe it has a M67 thread on the front.

The inon UCL-165 seem ok and can be stacked aswell if need be?

Ideally want something that if i upgrade the camera in the future to an SLR then i can use these lenses too. Budget around £200ish but could be a bit more if worth the extra spend.

Ta

Dave

I've got the S95 in an Ikelite housing with an Inon UCL-165 M67, just screws on the front, i think Cameras Underwater in the UK sell them for £150. I've also got the wide angle lense and I find that a more useful lense but its more £..

I've also bought a cheap non-underwater close up lense that screws on the front of the Inon and I think its giving further magnification, its been to 20m no probs but it not as strong/well built as the Inon... I need to do some more comparisons to see if its actually working! I get the impression it is though...

Thanks johnohuk - had a quick shop around and found a company selling them for £139.95 delivered on fleebay (so ones now on its way to me) :)

Think i will use this for the time being and maybe next year add another one onto the front .

I was thinking of a wide angle lens for it but with the UK waters not usually having that great vis i didnt think it would be worth it (and going abroad to dive maybe a few years off yet). Im assuming its the Inon UWL-H100 28M67? Might have to start saving some pennies if it seems to work quite well in UK waters.

Quite the opposite a wide lens makes you get close to the point your shooting distance is few cm with a dome and that is a great help in murky waters

Thanks interceptor - learn something new everyday.

Id best start saving then - as the inon wa lens is a smidgen over £400 :-/

Cheers for the info. Will do (I will google why a type 1 one just out of curiosity) :-)

Maybe a bit late by divervision are doing the inon lenses for 80 pounds excluding p&p....

I already have one for my S100 and have been getting some great results with my single strobe YS02, now I feel pretty comfortable with one lens thinking about adding another!

Thanks jjwebster - just had mine delivered today so hopefully try it out the weekend. Checked out that divervision and with postage to Uk plus import tax works out about £120 delivered which is slightly cheaper - so will probably buy my next one from there when i get comfortable and experienced.

Must admit the INON wide angle lens (type 1) and Inon Dome comes out at £575 delivered with tax which is quite cheap compared to most UK dealers.

Starting to want the wide angle lens and dome now! - im so impatient lol. Checked out that divervsion on scubaboard and tbh the company doesnt inspire confidence. Been around for 9 years but recently split from fun-in underwater. The website doesnt have an adress and lots of incomplete web pages - epecially about us. So it is a good price - but maybe too good to be true. Bit risky for me if spending nearly £600 to uk. Anyone know of any good UK sites for inon kit? or good ones abroad? - got my YS-01 from mozaik in usa and no problems :)
