Hi all,

Just got my Canon G10 all set up with u/w housing and strobe. Im looking for a macro extension for the housing. Any ideas?

11T--Welcome to SB. ReefNet makes an adapter now to fit the Canon housing you have ReefNet Inc. | SubSee Adapter Uses their SubSee magnifier and swings out of the way when not needed to do regular shooting. You'll need to use the camera w/ lens zoomed out to avoid vignetting (pretty much the story w/ other adapters due to the Canon housing) but that's a good thing in most situations. Pretty strong--takes in about a 1"-1.25" (25mm-30mm) field of view. No shots w/ mine yet but Bonaire this Saturday will cure that! :eyebrow: // ww

^ How do those compare to the Inon lenses people have been using? I'm new to all this so I don't know any specific model names to quote.

edit: And where do you order adapters like the dyron or UWca one from? Are there any websites that ship international?

I have INON UCL-165 M67 macro lens & Dyron adapter from UWdigitalcamera.com.
You can find other apater here also.

They both ship internationaly.

The Sub-See is a single magnifier setup (though they say they are eventually going to put out other stackable lenses). It's a big jump in strength from the camera's macro, maybe too much for a lot of situations but that's why the swing-away aspect is so handy--you aren't stuck with it the whole dive. (If I aim at a ruler I get about a 3.5" field in macro, zoomed out to max. W/ the SubSee in place about 1". Their website has plenty of "with & without" examples.) Other setups use "milder" strengths which may or may not allow for stacking or changing uw. // ww

Actually, for attach Dyron adator to housing you have to use screw (below photo).

It's not possible (or very hard) to remove or re-attach underwater.
So I made holes for tie shock code (below photo).

INON UCL-165 M67 & UN UNCU-02 lens (you can stack these).

Now I can easily remove/reattach adaptor uw.
