I'm a Fish!
Just came back from the shop with a new RX100MII! ;)

For a start, should i get the UWL-H10028M67 Type 2 or Nauticam Wet Mate?

Any thoughts and advice much appreciated.

They are two different thing, UWL-H100 give you about 105 degree field of view, the Wet Mate gives you about 80 degree (on the LX-7), would be less on the RX100 since it's 28mm instead of 24mm on the LX7.

I have not chosen the LX7 due to its brightness.

Thanks for all your advice which really helped me to finally decide on proper WA lens.

Interceptor
do you mean 67mm threaded lens holder which can be mounted on to the float arms/handles?

Sorry for the confusion.

I've compared sample videos taken by the LX7 and RX100II and I feel that the LX7's image are brighter and the RX100 dimmer. I think the RX100 will do well with video lights than the LX7.

I would think that a brighter image would be better, especially in low light. The brightness of course can be adjusted in post and lights shouldn't have a negative impact. I could be wrong.

The fast lens of the LX7 is an advantage and the camera perform a very well with lights
Both do in fact
However at the wide end with the Inon lens and the new sony mark II the image is sufficiently crisp that there are no big differences either
The lx7 has much better autofocus ability at close range and can even autofocus at super macro however the manual focus mechanism is more difficult to handle
Both cameras are fine and will perform very similar the sony does have better resolution and detail and the movie compression has higher quality this can be noticed when you shoot blue water the lx7 would have occasional block noise
So for me
1. Rx100 mark II
2. LX7
3. RX100 mark I
