I am planning a diving trip to Anilao. Buceo Anilao seems to be popular among divers, but am I right that from pictures the property and accommodation at Buceo Anilao look rather basic. Are there other “better” resorts in Anilao for those who prefer to stay in high end resorts? If upscale properties don’t exist in Anilao, can you recommend a good and next-to-luxurious accommodation in Anilao, that also has a safe and reliable dive operator/shop.

I thought about staying at Amanpulo but not really interested in what the diving in Palawan has to offer. I would like to experience the macro marine life and nudibranch in Anilao. After all this is an extension trip, after Palau with Four Seasons Explorer, since we are getting to Koror from Manila.

Thank you.

Aiyanar is well-reviewed.
I've been to Aiyanar three times (2014, 2016, 2019); it was excellent. But I understand that within the last year or so it has had some issues with staffing and upkeep. I don't know any more.

La Chevrerie is probably the closest to what can be considered as an upmarket accomodation in Anilao, although it's a not a hardcore dive dedicated resort, there's a dive center and freelance guides can operate from there.

Thank you. I will check out La Chevrerie

Diving at Amanpulo was not too interesting when I was there in the 1999s. Can’t imagine that it has improved. Furthermore, there were sandflies on the beach …

Been to both Buceo and Aiyanar. I’d say that food and accommodation were better at Aiyanar.
