Hello all.

I have surfaced. I have been lurking for some time now. I want to say as many already have, this board ROCKS!!!!!

I have been diving sporadicly for 12 years now. I just got serious about it though May of 02' when I did my AOW in Dominican Republic. I came back and had the bug bad.

I have since then proceeded to do the following: Get NAUI Rescue certified, Drysuit, TDI Nitrox, Advanced Nitrox, Decompression, (working on Extended range now), NAUI Master Diver (Needing to take test only now), NSS-CDS Cavern Certified & Cave Intro. I am going back in two years to finish up the Cave certs. I could not do all four courses at once, just to much at once. These are some of the most intense courses I have ever done. They are on par with DIR-F from what I have read on Sea Jays thread and from the DIR-F book. I have since those courses become a far better diver than I could have hoped for.

I am ultimatley looking to become an Instructor. I am doing this slowly but surely. I have been training for Divemaster all season. My Instructor has been mixing MasterDiver and Divemaster skills together all season. I have been in the pool two nights a week for 4 months working on various skills for myself as well as helping BOW and AOW classes. I have been allowed to produce and give lectures which have been GREAT. I have a lot of public speaking experience anyway so this has helped greatly. I have been able to along with my instructor and one other DiveMaster get the real life experience in assiting BOW and AOW students during their checkout dives. Of course during all this for liability reasons all students need to know I am not the actual Divemaster but working on it, and told who is the legally acting Divemaster during the course. I am hoping to complete the course and continue assisting my shop and instructor as a certified Divemaster starting next Spring. Without pay of course just for the fun. Glad to be getting big discounts and FREE air fills and good discounts on the Nitrox.

Look forward to seeing many of you up at Dutch Springs on the weekends. During the week is good too, if you can get off from time to time. Not so crowded either.

Have fun here, too!! :zorro:

You weren't kidding when you said you got the diving bug.

You sound like one heck of a dedicated diver.
