It seems that someone has started a web site where those who find a camera or memory card can upload some images in an effort for the owner to identify & claim their lost property.
Found Cameras and Orphan Pictures

That's pretty funny...imagine the first "um, I found this camera sitting on a ledge on a wall dive off Dominica, at about 110 ft. The pictures appear to be mostly of backscatter and fish tail...with one of the typical diver self-portraits with a cheesy grin and the regulator out of his mouth. If you know this diver, please contact him..." :D
 
Wonderful - I found a card while out hiking a while ago.
