The Cardinals just beat the Dodgers to go on to the NLCS, and when the game ended the Dodgers came out of their dugouts and congratulated the Cardinals.

This was a class act, something you don't see anymore in professional sports. I was very happy to see this..very cool.

If the manager of the Dodgers was Sammy Sosa, the entire team would have left the stadium way before the last out was recorded.

After Pooh-holes Homer - the Dodgers packed it in. 53 come from behind victories, including the impossible and glorious victory over NoCal to clinch it in the 9th, and we get like 1 hit after that home run for the rest of the night?

Make no mistake - Suppan is no Schilling, Clemmons, Martinez or Johnson. We just made him look like one tonight.

They did leave early - right after the homer. At least their bats did. This team that lead the majors in home runs, come from behind victories and grand slams... their bats took the rest of the night off.

K,

Thats not even where I was going with that..... atleast your team made the playoffs! It is nice to see a class act, and that it was. We need more of that in professional sports and from DIR divers.

I was a bitter and dissapointed fan snapping. We expect the colapse. Its just never easy to take.

I totally get it. The Sosa thing was pretty reprehensible (not to pour on salt, buddy) as was Bonds phoning it in. My team made the post season and actually had a victory - our first post season win in 16 years. Trust me, I am appreciative of what we achieved this year. Remarkable and well beyond reasonable expectation considering some of the mid-season moves we made.

When you got no game, sportsmanship really isn't a consolation prize. There will be no (serious) talk of sportsmanship tomorrow - only talk of rolling over to a much better team. Right or wrong, that's just how it will be. I guess this is the closest we'll get to a Hockey moment this year!

Its just part of being a Dodgers fan - the dissapointment and frustration that comes with it. The stoopid moves, the missed opportunities, the year in and year out feeling of futility, etc.

Of course Cubs fans know nothing about any of this. ;)

PS: Honestly, I gotta blame Sapphire for this. She sucked me into this season about May and I followed with youthful abandon all year - screaming at the TV & radio, watching/listening to every game (even when out of town), reading the stats and box scores every day, etc. She's a true fan, and I sort drank the koolaid again this year after taking about 5 or 6 years off. She got me fired up again, and I was there with the Dodgers all the way this year - dang her. Remind me to turn off her gas next time we dive.

As A Cubs fan leaving in Houston I now have to go through all this Astro's stuff.
So will they take it from the Braves tomorrow? I doubt it. So double whammy here for me.

Whoever wins tomorrow, just beat St. Louis!!

I actually want Boston to take it all this year though. I can't stand the yankees, st. louis hates Chicago and vice versa, atlanta is always in the playoffs, and houston just because I would rather see Boston win that Houston. :)

I was just about to say (before Mo beat me to it) we see this every year after each round of the Stanley Cup playoffs. It was really a class act on the Dodgers' part -- although I don't recall seeing Milton Bradley participating. I may have just missed him, though.

glad to hear that there are dodgers fans in this board! oh, and whats your opinion on the loduca trade? even though they made the playoffs, i'm still against it.
