Hi folks

Had an epic trip booked to Indonesia and due to leave today but Sandy has destroyed the plans and cancelled the trip (don't ask...) :-( Not a very happy camper about it but decided I need to make the most of my time off and now looking to go somewhere during the time (1 Nov - 19 Nov) in the Carribean/Central Americas to do some epic diving. Been looking at Cocos Island but can't find availability yet and also looking at some shark diving in Stuarts Cove, Bahamas. I'm based in Bermuda so will be flying through Miami but would love to hear of any openings or suggestions any of you may have. My bags are packed, just need to go!

Hello Scubacrazee, we heard of the disasters that have happened over there with "Sandy" our prayers are with the people affected.
You might consider the posibility to come to Cancun, we are very close of the different dive sites, Cenotes, Cozumel and one of the best dive you can do here BULL SHARKS, check this out Dive with bull sharks in Playa del Carmen by AlwaysDiving - YouTube they are here already, this is a dive we can do only on season, we can take care of you, my name is Alvaro González, I run Alwaysdiving, I´ve been teaching and conducting divers for over 32 years in this area, if you look for EXPERIENCE in this activity, contact me, you´ll have lots of fun, I believe in make friends not costumers, take a look on here AlwaysDiving & Water Sports - Cancun - Reviews of AlwaysDiving & Water Sports - TripAdvisor
Here, in Cancun, you can have a little bit of everything, good dives, exelent restaurants, great night life and more.
This could be a good option.
Regards.

I would like to give a plug to Always Diving...
Alvaro is a highly experienced diver who also happens to be a great guy. He is detail oriented and naturally goes the extra mile to make sure everything is just right. Alvaro took us to the Palancar reef where my wife completed her open water certification. I am an experienced diver and Alvaro was able to keep all of our dives quite interesting, and safe. In spite of Alvaro's excellent technical ability and knowledge I want to give him special consideration for helping my wife work through a bit of dive anxiety. I highly recommend him to any level diver. As Alvaro said at some point during our trip, "you come to Mexico for a vacation, and wind up making friends". This is certainly true with Alvaro and we can't wait to team up with him for our next dive.

Not sure if you've left yet, but a few years ago we were supposed to go to La Paz and there was a serious hurricane threat. In under 24 hours we pulled together one our best trips to Cozumel (flight change, hotel, diving) ever.

If you are looking for something quick, easy and great diving, I would suggest Cozumel. Fly straight in, stay at a hotel close to town and dive with Bottom Time Divers or Living Underwater. San Miguel is a very safe town with lots of good restaurants and bars.
