Fla. Keys gun for girlfriend in reefs.

More important than brand, is length and ability of your girlfriend to load and recoil. Sometimes shorter guns are a lot easier for the people with shorter arms or lacking upper body strength.

Girlfriend & I reef & wreck dive 30 -100ft. water in Keys she has been diving 20+ yrs. strong girl physically. We shoot groupers & snappers

Billers aren't a bad gun. there is another site that is more geared towards the hunting side of diving and its like scubaboard but instead of scuba the first word is spear.

I dive mostly wrecks with some live bottom in the Panhandle. I shot a 42 Biller for years. Was a great gun until the plastic muzzle got wallowed out. Although this is an easy fix (just buy a new muzzle and replace the old one) I opted for a 48" Riffe and I would never go back to the Biller type guns after becoming accustomed to the Riffe.

I would think for what you're doing a 42 would be adequate size and still be cockable. You'll just have to try out some and see what she can load and unload.
