Looking for info on Burma Live Aboards

Hello all,

Does anyone have some info on Burma liveaboards? Mid-Price range if possible. Looking to head down there around Dec.

Hi there,

Not been myself, but a few instructor friends did a liveaboard on the Burma banks and were very impressed with the marine life, corals and general biodiversity. They went with Smiling Seahorse out of Ranong, and really enjoyed it. You can look them up here:

Went on board mv dolphin queen in feb 2014.
went with similan diving safaris.

I recently did a trip on the MV Deep Andanaman Queen. Found the boat excellent and the crew superb. Had a great trip (especially as only 5 of us on a boat for 21....) Pickup and drop off in Phuket, drive 2 hrs or so to the boat. Did a couple of dives on the way up Thailand including Richelieu Rock before crossing into Burma and continuing up to the dive sites including Black Rock.

Burma was an interesting place to visit. Immigration is slow and painful, took us half a day to clear Burmese immigration. Fisherman are still dynamite fishing, so we had 1 site that had areas of lots of dead fish on the bottom which was a bit sad, but luckily wasn't throughout dive site.

Overall, it is very worth visiting.
