Hello, We (Kris & Mindy) are starting a scuba club for the kids at Mindy's school (Wilson Elementary in Mesa, AZ). We will meet with kids (they are in 4th-6th grade and we have 30-35 already signed-up) once a week to teach them about marine life & oceanography...that is what Mindy's school website is for...the one with all the pictures & videos. In a couple months we will be offering scuba certification for the kids who are in the club and this is where we can use your help! As we all know, this is not the cheapest activity and most of the kids won't be able to afford this without donations. We would greatly appreciate anything you are willing to give!!!

We are also in need of any equipment...especially masks, snorkles & fins for the pool sessions. If you have any extra gear, books, or anything else you think would benefit these kids...we'll gladly take any of it.

To donate money online, go to: to http://www.mpsaz.org/main2/eca/index.html Choose to donate online and when prompted, select “Wilson Elementary” and “Diving – 8311”. Fill in the amount and compete the payment information.

If you do not live in Arizona, you may want to talk to your accountant to see if any donations can be tax deductible since it is for a public school's after-school program. We only know how it works for Arizona tax payers.

Thank you so much for your time! We appreciate any support you can give to these kiddos!

They are... the class will be for ages 10 and up (4th - 6th grade) and aside from the underwater life aspect of the class, the kids will be working towards becoming Junior Open Water divers. They'll get to the pool once a month for working on skills and taking part in the PADI Seal Team activities. Parents are encouraged to get certified, if they aren't already, and there will be an end of the school year trip, probably to San Diego for those certified and their diving parents to use their new skills at La Jolla, to spend time at the tide pools and a visit to the Scripps Aquarium.

And thanks to truck1 for dontaing several snorkels to the effort! We really appreciate it!

Thanks to Dive-aholic and Southwest Scuba for the generous offer to help with the instruction aspect class! This project is starting to take off with help from many volunteers/donations!

Kris Saguaro holds a bunch of gear for the Boy Scout primarily tanks. The boy scouts them selves have all of the other gear and may be will to lend it for a school program. Your best bet would to be to talk to Charlotte at the shop

booth i might be able to dig out some old masks / snorkels / fins from when i was a munchkin....if I can find this gear where / whom do i send it to?
