I'm a Fish!
I have been using the canon g9 and housing for photos and video, I am now looking into getting a video setup. Can anyone tell me if there are video cameras that are more suitable for macro video?

Also, what quality are the stills that you can take from these videos? Will they be comparable to the canon g9 (12 megapixel)?

I have had good success with Canon and I would like to buy it at best buy, they have a really good warranty and they are easy to buy off the internet for me. Best buy also has JVC, Sony and Panasonic.

Any help would be appreciated.

If you check out reviews there are many out there just search good dive camera and there are sites showing actual photos side by side. Sony 100 is a nice camera for macro stuff it's mirrorless and you can swap lenses. A good prime macro lense is hard to beat for sharpness the downside is you have to be very close.

What is the budget. If you are flush, get a GH4 and a nice housing but that is probably a $3K investment.

You could go with the new GoPro 4 and a Flip 3.1 diopter as the most reasonable video camera. The stills are ok, not great though.
Really depends on your budget.
