Hubby and I are going to be on the beach in St. Pete for the week of August 8th, and would like to see about doing some diving. We're both new divers, and still feel most comfortable diving with a guide. We prefer shallow reef dives, and most enjoy seeing the sealife.

If anyone can recommend a good dive operator and suggest any sites we would enjoy, we'd appreciate it, thank you!

There is a new charter boat in the area I have not used it but have been told it is good if you use them let me know about it.

Narcosis Scuba http://www.narcosisscuba.com/DiveBoatIndex.htm is a half hour north of st. pete, and does charters out of Tarpon Springs. Haven't done a charter with them, but I've done business with them as an LDS, and was pleased. Zippy boat though!

Also heard good things about these people: http://www.seafoxdivecharters.com/

Let us know what you hear back!

I've used the ConchQuest out of Sarasota, another boat in the general area. You can book them through ScubaQuest dive shops. I don't know about a guide though as most reefs in the area are artificial and pretty easy to swim around. Avgerage depth is in the 40-50' area.
