Greetings everyone!

I am currently looking into getting some made to measure wetsuit (5mm) and I found a manufacturer called Nemo Wetsuits. Nemo wetsuits is based out of Bali and was started by a German (Robert Ottilie), a Belgian (Jan Soontjens) and an American (Ray). They have an impressive web site and their product seems quite appealing, but they seem new and so, there isn't that much information about them going around the web. I was wondering if anyone had the opportunity of trying out their product and if so, could you give some feedback? Perhaps you've heard of the people who started the company? Thanks for any help that you might have.

FYI, I am looking for M2M for 5 mm fullsuit wetsuit with that nice water repelling smoothskin texture that reduces drag in the water.

cheers,
GumbyTheBorg

I've 3 of their wetsuits, plus 3 of their vests. Like their stuff very much. When in Bali I go to their factory for new gear and any needed alterations. Do good custom fit, plus whatever your unique needs. They are great people to work with.

Don't know how old company is, but certainly not new. Have been dealing with them for a few years now.

I bought a wetsuit about three weeks ago that was supposed to be ready for me to pick up before I leave Bali. I was away until yesterday diving in Halmahera and Lembeh. When I showed up at the shop yesterday, they couldn't find the suit. Then they realized that it hadn't been made because they were out of stock of the neoprene in the colours I had selected. At no time did they attempt to contact me to ask if I would consider alternative colours. If they had, they would have had time to make the suit, albeit not in my first choice colours.

They're now rushing to complete the wetsuit by noon tomorrow so I can take it back to Canada with me. They "think" it will be finished in time. I had to choose alternate colours, totally different from my initial selections.

If it's not ready, they say they'll send it by TNT courier. I'm waiting for confirmation that they'll pay the shipping charges, not me.

I'll post an update once this disappointing event is concluded.

Here's the update. NEMO was able to finish the suit before noon so I could pick it up and take it back to Canada with me. I'll give them credit for making the suit in about 1.5 days. The suit fits like a glove and the workmanship seems superior to the typical off the rack wetsuit. Haven't tried it in the water yet but I expect it will be fine. Tempted to buy another one in my first choice colours when I'm back in Bali next year.
