I got tired of the complexity of searching for flights for my next diving holiday and decided to build the web app I always wanted to use but could never find.

So I came up with a dive trip planning app for
  • Finding the perfect trip destination from an interactive map showing over 16 000 dive sites across the World.
  • Filtering dive sites by sea water temperature in the desired month of travel.
  • Avoiding tropical cyclone seasons.
  • Easily locating the nearest airports.
  • Searching for flights to the desired destinations.
  • Filtering flights to find the optimal days of travel based on my budget and travel time preferences.
The app is now in beta and I am looking for feedback from actual users planning their own dive trips. Beta testers will be able to use the app for free in return for their suggestions on how to improve the app.

If you would like to participate, send me a private message. I'm based in Finland, so please note the time difference may affect the speed of reply. And kindly note this is a hobby project, not a big corporation.

I'd love to DM you, but this is my first post and can't DM until I have 5 posts. I'm in the pondering phase of this year's diving excursion, so this is timely.
Can you tell me more about your requirements for beta testing?
Which platform does it run on? What kind of feedback are you looking for? What do you expect in terms of time commitment?

Feel free to DM me...
Chip

Does it involve side-loading apps or is it available on playstore in its beta version?

It runs in the browser, so no app download is needed. I've done some testing with a mobile device, but the search results are quite tricky to display on a narrow screen so it's not really good on a mobile (yet). So far I've focused testing on Chrome, I need to check how it works in Safari.

You don't need to commit to any amount of time. Feedback can be submitted from the app. I am really looking into ways how to improve the user experience and optimize the freemium business model - understanding what generates value for users and are they willing to pay for that. (Testers will receive free search credits, so you don't have to pay but I will ask if you would have paid for the service.)

I can share a few more facts which I've shared with the people who already contacted me regarding the beta.

The app in built with Anvil (Anvil: Web Apps with Nothing but Python). Since this is beta, you can only access it with a hidden URL I'll share with you once we hook up via direct message.

There's a possibility to browse dive sites without creating an account, but you'll need to create an account to search for flights. The terms and conditions are on the website, they should be pretty understandable. Let me know if there is too much jargon. :)

Use any email you like to create an account, even create an empty new one for the web app, I am not collecting emails for marketing or anything.

Feedback

Once you're signed in, you can submit feedback directly from the app (there's a give feedback button), and it'll send the feedback form to me. If for some reason it wouldn't work, just send me a DM here. But preferably send feedback via the app.

All feedback is really valuable at this stage. But please don't share the link with anyone, if some of your friends would like to try the app, please ask them to PM me here and they are welcome to join the beta.

Dive trip destination and flight search is the core service

I believe there are some very useful dive site filtering options when you are looking for inspiration where your next dive trip could be.

I don't sell travel, but those are real flights listed by real airlines, so once you've found your perfect destination and connection, you can look for it on the airline page. The idea of the app is to help you find your perfect trip!
