I remember seeing a company that manufactured backplates (for diving) in the Philippines... Does anyone have the url for them?

Also there was a diving school/dive shop(?) in the Philippines that was teaching a gear configuration that invloved a BP/Dive Rite wing, Poseidon regulators, UK Q40 lights with custom made ends (so that they could hand from a D-ring Scout-style) and zippered pockets... Does anyone know what I'm talking about or did I hallucinate all of this

Please help, I've had no luck with Google.

No No No.... Don't do it Vie... if you use a PI made BP... you're gonna... DIE!!!!!

:rofl3: :joke: :joke:

If no one gets back to you, check with David Ross over at Tech Asia. I remember his shop had some local made BP's hanging awhile back...

Thanks for your help, guys.

Never mind... Google succeeded after all. Found them - the website of KAG (equipment manufacturing division of Philippine Technical Divers), seems to have disappeared - luckily we have Internet Archive Wayback Machine ( http://www.archive.org/index.php )

I think Philtech has dropped KAG but they still do have stock of backplates in SS and aluminum as well as some spools.
Locally no one has perfected yet ss backplates because nobody does mandrel bending. You might want to check the plates made by IST. www.istsports.com The only problem with their plates is that the edges are a bit sharp and needs to be filed some more.

Thanks, Axua - will check IST.
