I'm a Fish!
Once again I am trying to find a teensy camera that can slide into a small pocket and go anywhere. I currently have a tiny Sony 2MP, but the photos have too much noise, now that I know what I am looking for!

The Sony is 82x39x28mm and I'd like something as small as possible that still gives decent snap shots.

The "best" I can find from digging through dpreview is the Canon SD400 (Ixus 50) at 86x53x21. Great reviews and the biggest downside seems to be a weak flash (and the fact that it takes a stupid SD card). It's also pretty pricey at just over $300. But it's 5mp and should last for years - think I've had the Sony for at least 4 years now. MP isn't a huge deal - won't be blowing these up or doing severe crops.

Just wondering if anyone has come across anything else that might be worth taking a look at. This camera is just for always having along and I don't expect full manual features or a housing etc - point and shoot, happy snappy. My underwater needs are already set so it isn't an issue with this camera! One I can hand off to an non gadget uncle or grandmother to use with ease at family functions etc is what I am looking for.

Thanks!

there is this new sony camera forget the model number its as large as a credit card but around 1 inch thick. its 7 megapics and even has a marine pack. il try to get the model number

could try the Pentax Optio s5i - fits in an Altoids tin (what I use to carry mine around in) - no one is gonna steal a tin of Altoids!). 5mp, goo dpic quality, and it is th eonly camera I have found that fits into an Altoids tin.

they also have an underwater housing for it.

It's just gone out of production (replaced with the S5n and S5z - both a bit bigger) so you should be able to find them for about $250 as a run out model.
