I'd bet that is a precursor to SP discontinuing the X650. Or, perhaps Santa is overstocked and made LP a deal they could not refuse.

I loved my X-650. They replaced it during the recall and the new one never worked properly. Out of the box the diaphragm was bunched and leaked horribly. After I fixed that, it breathed wet if you were inverted at all, then started to freeflow (not good at 100ft). Turns out the seat for the o ring on the Venturi adjustment was bad. They sent me an S-600 as a replacement when I sent it back the 3rd time. If you get a good one they are wonderful regs and the MK25 is awesome.

ScubaPro discontinued the X650 second stage after the 2007 season. In the '07 catalog, the MK25/X650 was listed for $686.00. I've never dove one; but from what I understand, due to it's unique design, the X650 was one of the easiest breathing second stages on the market. But I've also heard that due to it's unique design, the X650 had a tendency to freeflow in certain situations.
For $299 it sounds like a good deal (the MK25 first stage probably retails for that alone), but it will not be warranteed by ScubaPro.

Nice deal, with a "Limited Lifetime Warranty" by LP.

I don't know how they're gonna honor it should SP stop making parts for it. The annual service kits should be OK, the LP seat is the same as the other balanced seconds (G250), but the poppet and the diaphragm have different part numbers.

No - 56% off on a MK25 on their website caught my eye while I was looking at regs. Didn't realize the X650 was discontinued.

I may have to break down and buy one.
