Yes it will work well, is dependable and with reasonable care will last about as long as you do. :)

Sounds pretty good i am all most 16 better last long!!! lmao

I don't mean to hijack this thread, but there was something I've been curious about...and the OP might find the answer will help inform his purchase.

What is the difference between the Aqualung Titan LX Supreme (1st stage/2nd stage) and the Aqualung Titan LX (1st stage/2nd stage)?

I'm familiar with the marketing spiel that the "Supreme" regulator is approved for colder water temps. On the second stage, the only difference appears to be the lipshield (which can be purchased separately and mounted on any second stage) and the nicely painted purge cover (cosmetic). Is there a special heat exchanger on the Supreme 1st stage that I'm missing? It's my understanding that both the LX Supreme and LX first stages are environmentally sealed. I suspect that the LX Supreme is remarkably similar to the LX...so much so that the extra expense probably isn't justified. At present I don't have access to exploded parts diagrams for the two first stages in question.

Am I way off base here?

Well, I have several US Diver regs (before they became Aqualung) ranging from 1958 (52 years old) to around 1972 which are still in service and completly divable...which I do on occasion and there is no reason they will not be going strong in another 50 years so I bet they will outlast me. I know guys that have older ones. The internal parts in my mid 60s to 70s regs are the exact same as in the current Titan/Legend/Conshelf. Unless you do not take reasonable care of the reg or run over it with a truck, there is no reason at all it will not be divable in 50 or 100 years. It might be scuffed and dinged up but still fine to dive.
As for the differences in the LX and the Supreme, all I see in a 2006 parts catalog I have is some "pretty" parts, just dress up with no other function....except a higher price tag. :)

See, this what kills me, you have already decided and now want somebody to validate your purchase :idk:.

However, by luck or draw you made a great choice. It is a top notch regulator, simple, robust, easily serviced around the world, good job:).

I love mine, the first new regulator I have bought in years for me.

The "Supreme" means it is fitted with a cold water kit which can be installed on any Titan LX.

A DIN kit can be had as well for any Titan LX, new or old.

Excellent choice, you will enjoy it for years.

The LX does not appear to have the true diaphragm environmental seal that seals the inside of the reg from water It just uses the reg diaphragm . The LX Supreme adds the true environmental seal that seals the reg from water.

AL is streching the meaning of an environmental seal in the LX. If you look at the the two regs on the AL web sight you can clearly see the the LX Supreme has a true environmental seal diaphragm and AL states the reg is resistant to freezing in waters colder than 50 degrees F 10 C
