I'm interested in the Panasonic 700 series Cams and believe that Equinox can suppy a housing for it?

I have a couple of questions if this is the case (excuse the pun).

Standard Back.

I assume on the standard back, you're left to view the video through the cam's view-finder. Is this feasible with no (apparent) magnification (how far will the cam be away from the back?
I currently use an amphibico and utilise the viewfinder (I prefer it this way), but this is slightly magnified so I can see it quite clearly from a couple of inches away.

White Balance.

Not a biggie in my job, but I see the only model with WB is the HD8, but the weight and size proportions increase incredibly, why is this?

Record/Stop.

I'm having difficulty seeing where this is on the housing. Is it possible to Zoom and Record/Stop without moving your hands from the handles?

Your help is much appreciated.

With the HD6 for the TM 700 I would recommend our rear mounted LCD monitor. The camera screen door opens approximately 60% in the housing giving you a view of the screen, but we have found that most customers really like the closeness and center location of the rear mounted LCD. White balance is not offered for the TM 700, but we have begun to add one touch white balance to the HD6 models that offer it (Sony). Zoom and record start/stop controls are located on the right side of the housing and each has its own control. There are no electronic controls in the handles. Please let me know if you have any additional questions I can assist with.

White balance button added to my HD6 made all the difference.
To get to it on the Canon HV30 needs :
  • press menu once
  • push joystick to right
  • push joystick in while pointing camera at white slate
  • look at your gauges to see if your depth is the same......
So it's really something you need to get the hang of and practice in confined water a few times.
