was diving along the reef and there it was hopping around... it was pretty cool looking clam... can anyone id this type of File Clam?

It looks like a red flame scallop, sometimes called a red file shell clam.

I just saw a similar one in Lembeh that had electric streaks running along the mantle. Unfortunately, I didn't get a good shot of it.

Yeah, that's a flame scallop. The shells are so boring.

are they eatable.... i but them in my aquarium and my blue crab is scared of them for some reason.... thanks for the info...
