I just returned home from Cabo! What a great trip. We have started an annual trip with 10 of my buddies (5 couples)

We rent a villa in Pedregal (gated community in Cabo) that is 6100 sq ft. It has 6 master bedrooms, a pool, and pool table. We then hire a chef and bartender. The 5 days end up costing us about $900 per couple (yep, that's just $450 each) for everything! Including the food, liquor (lots), the staff (chef, bartender, and housekeeper), trips to and from the airport, and the villa. :D

We get the same villa each year along with the same chef and bartender. (If anyone needs a contact number for a chef or driver shoot me a PM!) Our chef each year is Ishmel (his brother-in-law helps with the cooking and bartending) and our driver is Mauricio. They are a great couple of guys. Ishmel meets with us the first day and gets our grocery list and finds out what we'd like to eat. He then goes shopping for us including going to the marina early in the mornings to get fresh fish!

On to the diving. We dove 3 days with Manta Divers. We've use them each year as well! Don't you love it when you see the same dive staff year after year!?!?! Manta SCUBA Diving, Cabo San Lucas, Sea of Cortez Melissa set up our dives before we got there. We requested Gordo Banks (hoping for hammerheads) on day one. Instead of the usual 2 dives, she set up 3 for us! We didn't see any hammerheads but had a great day of diving and laughed all the way back after Sumo lost the anchor! The current was ripping so hard it caused it to lodge into the rocks and the line broke! :shocked2: Can anyone say search and recovery dive???

Day two we headed out to Cabo Plumo. One of my favorite dive spots! I've never seen so many fish on a single dive than I do when I'm diving Cabo Plumo. KiKi also parked the boat right above a TIGER SHARK!! Whooo hooo!!! Silly me, I was so stoked I didn't have time to think about it having big teeth! That made up for him not showing us any hammerheads the day before. :kiss2: We also saw a sea turtle and some manta rays.

The last day we dove locally where we had a sea lion buzz us. Luis also showed us his secret stash of seahorses too!

I can't say enough about the professionalism of the dive staff. We are kicking around the idea of going back again in November to try and find our hammerheads.

Did I mention that the water ran around 84-88F???? :eyebrow: Gotta love the no wetsuit diving!!!

Nice report Ann Marie. When do we get to see the pictures

thanks for the info. I will be there in two weeks, can't wait. I usually dive with Amigos but I am considering Manta just to see the difference. Where is their shop located? Is it close to Solomon's Landing and the Tesoro (Plaza Las Glorious) ?
I just looked at their website and it says they are located "on the main beach in Cabo", Medano beach but where????

They are in Gali Plaza. Do you know where the Dolphin Encounter is? It is in the shopping center right next to the encounter.

Since we dove with them last year, they've opened a new shop which is really nice. They now have two different sets of lockers there. One set is where you can store your gear for the night (so much nicer than taking it back and forth!) the other set is where you can lock up valuables. With both sets of lockers you take the key.

Just know that there are small stinging critters in the water (more at Gordo Banks than the other areas) including small jellyfish. I dove in my boardshorts and swimsuit. My buddy had a short sleve rashguard and his trunks. If you really don't need a wetsuit if you don't want one, but if you have a rashguard I'd bring that. I got a few stings but nothing bad. My buddy got stung by something on his arm that looked icky!

I'll try and get some pictures up later today.

I didn't get a shot of the Tiger Shark :depressed: It didn't come out of the murk enough to get a good shot. I thought do I sit back and enjoy watching it or do I take a crummy photo??? no photo but good memories.

Here are the links to the photos and to the villa. I've got to go teach this morning so I'm just sticking in the links. True to form there are very few photos topside. :)
