Long night and a long weekend ahead

Got a call from our TL last night at 10pm. One of our detective's daughters was "apparently" abducted yesterday and we have been placed on standby pending a starting location. The suspect was picked up in an area with miles of canals, and there were indications that he had been in the water.

Of course, being the news, they even got the detective's name wrong.

Anyone reading this in the area of the Sarasota county and Charlotte county border, please keep your eyes open and report ANYTHING suspicious to the Sarasota SO or Charlotte SO.

Kidnapping suspect charged, police resume search

The only thing that I know that has been released that is not in this article is that the suspect was soaking wet when picked up.

Sitting behind this desk is driving me nuts. It's not like I'm going to accomplish anything today anyway. When my shift is over, I can at least get out and pound some ground and do something.

Not for sure yet, but...

Sitting around waiting for this call and not being allowed to be part of the search has been really rough. Harder than any callout I have been called out on.

Well, we finally got the call. We're going out tomorrow AM to look for additional evidence.

We're headed out tomorrow to continue the search for the murder weapon. It's our normal training day, and we're going to spend the whole thing out there looking. There's two ponds, a small one and a 20 acre one, and a canal we're going to look at.
