After OW certification, I had my trusty PADI Log Book to record my dives. My LDS seems to only carry similar small paper logs. I'm old fashioned, the computer downloads and electronics logs are cool but I want to keep a paper log.

So to my new friends in the dive comunity, I'd like to hear what they are doing for paper logbooks. Do you use an agency log book (PADI, NAUI, etc) or are there some nice third party logs out there?

Thanks much for your suggestions!!! :)

I have my logbook from OW with SSI. I have enough pages for about my first 100 dives, plus tracking equipment inspections and the such. I like it for now and it keeps everything in 1 place for me.

i have several Naui dive logs that I have from when I certified. They are about 7 inches by 4 inches and fit in my dive bag well.

hubby has volumes and volumes and volumes of log books, he downloads from the computer and then fills out his log pages that we designed ourselves

me...... i dont log my dives

I have the dive flag colored 3 ring zip up notebook that some on this board would refer to as an 'orange shovel'! I do try and clean it out periodically and when I do I only leave the last 10 dive write ups in it.

Lined record books from any office supply store. Much more flexible. Use as much or as little space as you want for each dive. Want to put 5 dives on one page? Go ahead. Want to write a book and add sketches? That's an option too. BTW, it's also a cheaper way to go.

If you want to print your own, I have several publisher files of logbooks I collected over time. I print them on a laser printer to cardstock paper. I size them to be 1/2 sheet 8.5x11.

I have tec style, multi-level and basic logsheets. Best of all, you can customize them to your hearts content. I figure a 200 sheet ream cost $6 and generated about 800 log book pages. Plenty for the wife and I.

I also keep my log in an Access database. Makes getting silly statistics easy. (also good for looking up useful data as well)

I use the SSI Platinum refill book. You can log 2 dives on one page and 100 dives in the booklet.
