Hi all,

Were looking at going to a local island (not a resort island) in October and have so far landed on these:
Fulidhoo
Ukulhas
Maafushi
Mahibadhoo

It seems south ari may be the best bet for good diving that time of the year, what do you all think? Are there better options?

Were keen photographers and would love to see big pelagic (sharks, rays, dolphins and maybe even a whaley?)

HI, I don't have any experience of the islands you mentioned above but I cant recommend Fuvahmulah highly enough. The diving is amazing year round and they continue to post Facebook pics and videos. The island is fishing village with a presence of tiger sharks year round. They don't feed them by hand but dump the carcasses that the fisherman discard. They have a great chance seeing many pelagics. We saw 3 Thresher sharks, many silver tips, oceanic mantas, a great hammerhead, walls of grey reef sharks and dozens of Tiger sharks. We never saw a whale shark but you cant have it all. The coral is in great condition and there were many schools of trevally and barracuda. Go check out fuvahmulahdive.com, you wont regret it
