I'm new to lobstering in key west area, and being from out of state(Virginia), would like to catch some lobster in/around key west area.
I will be purchasing a out of state license.

Does anyone have any suggestions of areas/locations that I might land a few.

I will be diving from my boat and be there for a long weekend 3-4 days.

I would like to make this trip an outstanding experience.

I'm aware there is a 6 limit.

Also if does anyone know of other good hunting areas in fl.

Please see the attached link to FWC saltwater fishing regulations, which includes crawfish (spiny lobster). As Indicated above, season is currently closed through August 5th (with a 2-day sportsman season on July 28 and 29).

The good news, however, is that you can take all the lionfish and tar balls that you can find and capture. Lionfish are delicious to eat...tar balls not so much.

Happy hunting.

T2Scuba-- when are you coming down? The Florida Keys is the best lobstering in the world. The lobster march south the first week of July to the keys. Rarely are any seen north of Dade county after this march of the lobster.

Be mindful of the SPA areas or it will be a VERY $$$$ lobster tail.
