LOB in Sea of Cortez/Baja?

Hi there,

apart from Solmar V, are there any other LOBs in the Sea of Cortez/Baja region? Can't find anything...

I'm looking into August - Solmar is going for Great Whites by then. Or is it not necessary to go by liveaboard?

Is August a good time?

There's the Nautilus Explorer. But they go in spring/fall because they do Alaska in the summer.

It's 250 miles to Socorro Island from Cabo. So no other way to get there. Solmar V takes a whole day each way. From what I understand it's best for big animals in fall/spring. afaik, Solmar is sold out for 2008 also - at least according to the last newsletter I saw.

There's others out of LaPaz/Loreto also. I don't know anything about them. Check out Club Cantamar, Baja Expeditions, the Don Jose liveaboard and there's one more - it's a fishing charter one week and a dive boat the next. Can't recall the name but it was recently discussed here on SB. (edit) see below: M/V Andrea Lynn...
