Hey everyone, am thinking of going on either a 4 or 7 day liveaboard in April. Will be in Melbourne to visit family but willing to fly ANYWHERE in Australia for great diving. Where do you recommend I go? Cairns? I'm also going solo... is there a liveaboard that has the best chance that I won't be with only families or couples?

Toooooo Easy.

When you know the dates we shall talk to all the reserv teams and the girls can find out who exactly is on what trip. A little bit of scoping goes a long way hey?

How is the Big Apple by the way.

P.S Diver Instructors here are notorious for stacking on the service to Solo Divers.

P.P.S Happy Easter

What reserv teams? A friend of mine also suggested Cairns Dive Centre. Have you heard of them? I'm trying to nail down the dates but if there's a week in April with "more singles" on the boat, I may be able to plan around that. :-)

Big Apple is still cold and it's already spring!!!

It is looking like it could be April 11-16. Any boats during that time?

Most states will be having their school holidays around these dates, so could be a busy time in the resort areas.

I found a Taka boat with availability so I'll be booking it. Another question - is it ok to go to Skyrail Rainforest Cableway the next day after diving? I think diving ends at 10 AM anyway. Also do you recommend doing that? My flight is not until 5 PM so I think I may be able to go in the morning. That or just chill out on the beach.

As for cyclones, can they predict those in advance? The boat trip will be two weeks from now...

Thanks!

I ended up going on the 5-day Coral Sea trip with Taka dive. It was fantastic! There were so many single people from all over the world. The crew was great too. It was a good 1st experience on a liveaboard for me. I had the best time and am now having dive-drawals. :-) I am ready to go on a week-long liveaboard!!!
