Hi,

Which hotel in Little Cayman do you recommend? Little Cayman Beach Resort, Paradise Villas or Blue Lagoon? Do you recommend the diving operators working with these hotels? If so, which diving operator should I chose?

Many thanks for your replies.

You are comparing an apple, an orange and a duck.

The differences are so large, I would suggest that you do some research on this site, as most have been answered numerous times before, excluding Blue Lagoon. (I didn't know Blue was licensed to rent rooms.)

Simply put:

LCBR is all inclusive and uses Reef Divers with their own dock.

Paradise is not all inclusive, has a room with a kitchen of sorts, but is next door to a restuarant. Paradise uses Conch Club Divers, who use the LCBR dock.

Blue Lagoon is a few miles away, not all inclusive and does not have a related dive op to my knowledge. A car would be a must there.

Each has it's pluses and minuses. Do some research and you will find a wealth of knowledge here for LCBR and PAradise, but not much on Blue.

Hi,

Why can't we find much information about Blue Lagoon? Does nobody stay there? Strange because this is the cheapest hotel on Little Cayman.

Definitely apples oranges and grapes.

Of those 3, I would suggest LCBR for your first trip there. It's well thought of and everything will be convenient. It's the only one of those 3 I would remotely call a "hotel." (Actually I don't know what to call Blue Lagoon, maybe it's great, but I've never heard of it. They say nothing about diving arrangements.)

Paradise Villas is a small group of bungalow like condos on the water. You don't dive directly from there, no dock, you have to get picked up to get to the boat. Not that it's that far. If you're thinking of cooking in to save money, be aware that LC does not have much for groceries so this is not at easy as you'd think.

Other major lodgings are Southern Cross Club and Pirates Point. Or the Club, and the Conch Club condos. All have their fans and most have been discussed many times in threads here.

You are talking about spending a minimum of $1,500 to $2,500 per person to get to Little Cayman for a week. Why would you want to save a few hundred dollars and return home feeling disappointed.

In my opinion, having been to Little Cayman numerous times, stay at LCBR and live like the rich and famous for a week.

Last time I was there we would be cruising out from the dock enjoying a few laughs with the dive master and off in the distance was a group of divers standing around in the heat, holding all their gear and waiting for the dive master from a neighboring resort to load 40 tanks on the boat. He had to lug them down a dirt road and then out on a long dock.

Everybody's situation is different, but I'll pay a little more to get a lot more enjoyment.

Hi,

We finally chose to stay at Paradise Villas and then will dive with Conch Club Divers in Little Cayman during the last week of December.

Thanks for your replies.
