I'm wondering if you can shore dive here ? And if there is a shop here to rent weights and tanks? Cost and name of shop

Ocean Encounters is the name of the dive op at Lions Dive. The shore dive is called Stella Maris. Note that you have to tow a flag or SMB because the swim out and back is in a boat channel. There is a thick line on the bottom that runs along the side that guides you from the beach entry out to the reef.

Just west a little ways is the Dive Bus, with their "house reef" of Pier Baai (a.k.a. - "The Car Pile") across the street. With them, using their business, you can park in their gated lot and not worry, and rent whatever you need. Nice little shop, and some really friendly folks... There is also some food available on the site with a little local business.

Oh, and you can grab a post dive beer with the folks there too.
