A couple of pics taken in the Bahamas last week. Lion fish are unfortunately taking over the place, but are pretty photogenic. Lots of sharks as well.

We were in Freeport two weeks ago and it was quite shocking to see the way the lions have taken over. It was sad to see the decline of the juvi/smaller fish population. We were told that the lions are the only fish you can hunt on Scuba. They encourage it.
 
Bahamas is somewhere that I really need to pay the price and dive....I have always said it was too expensive compared to other destinations but these pictures are why it is a must for me. I loved looking at them. Thanks fo rposting them.

yeah, over the last year or two, the number of lions have grown exponetially, really causing issues on the reef (and they also congregate in the wrecks meaning no more swim throughs)

i wonder what eats them in the Pacfic....
