I'm a Fish!
With the invasion of Lion fish into our waters I thought I would share a few pictures of the process we actually use to remove these pesky critters from our beautiful reefs. These were taken today, the 21st of September. This fish was taken from the north wall near rum point. From what I understand, its one of, if not the largest Lion fish taken from these waters. It was upside down underneath a shelf at 100 ft. As you can see from the pictures, there was no fear of divers on the part of the fish.
Many thanks to James Gibb from the Department of Environment. He was kind enough to come out on the boat with me so we could document the process.

Good catch! It is a big one indeed. Keep up the good work.
I did 3 dives this week-end and did not see a single one. Lets hope it stays that way

In my trip report from last week we recovered one also. This was a smaller one under a reef, we turned it over to DOE when we got back to the harbor.

Jason - the WNDC caught 2 at Blackies last night, 1 at Pedros last Weds & 3 at Smith Cove the Weds before.

Also a huge (500 lbs?) green turtle at Blackies (which we didn't catch ...).
