Hi everyone,
I am wondering what the best light set up would be fore people who put their underwater camera and gopro on the same tray. (gopro mounted upside down below the tray).
I currently have a Hero 3 Black edition, and a Underwater Kinetics Aqualite 90 degrees. Thinking about buying an Olympus OMD with 12-50mm lens and also will get the port, Nauticam housing, tray, arms etc.
My question is:
1) 2 wide angle video lights and 1 strobe, or
2) 2 strobe and 1 wide angle video light?
3) 1 strobe and 1 wide angle light ?
and how to mount them?
Since Gopro requires really wide beam for the videos, I think a wide beam video light is necessary. However, I also heard that strobe is better than light for still pictures.
My video light choice: use my current UK aqualite 90 degrees, or upgrade to itorch video pro5
Manufacturer :: iTorch :: iTorch Video Pro5 Video Light -
(the reason I didn't choose sola is because I will have absolutely no time to charge lights between dives during the day)
My strobe choice: Inon 2000 or YS D1
I am going to Cozumel in May, but for the rest of the year, I will dive in the murky and cold Southern California water. I am not really into macro yet. I think it will be at most 30-40% of my pics. What I like most is the light and shades in the kelp forest, and opportunities for silhouette pictures.
My budget is about 3000-4000 bucks (including everything for Olympus OMD).
Would really appreciate any comments, tips, etc. Thank you!
