From what I understand the only difference for the Light & Motion Bluefin OLED (Pro) and Standard for the Canon is the OLED display.

Is the OLED monitor that much different that the standard monitor?

Is it worth the additional $1000.

Can anyone tell me the difference between the 2 monitors?

Thanks

It has a 3.2in OLED screen as per website.

a 3-4in OLED Camera is 500-700$. The screen in that package should cost 300$ Maybe?

I don't know about cameras, but your basically paying 1000$ for a 400$ add-on.
OLED screen spend less battery and are much brighter.
It could help in situation where you have too much light and you can't see the LCD due to reflection.

But usually, underwater, there is less light, not more.

I'm not a pro in Photo/Video, just my opinion as a computer geek/engineering student.

Technically, I don't know...but I've had and used both. The only usable difference I notice is that I have alot more contrast control over the OLED that I didn't have with the standard (at least on the earlier model), and I don't have any operational issues with the OLED version. The standard version use to go out on me at inopportune times...so much so that I use to always carry the regular back cover just in case the standard monitor failed (which it often did). I send back my standard monitor at least two times to get L&M to fix it, but they never could find a problem. I haven't had a single problem with the OLED...other than you have to make sure that your contrast adjustments on the OLED don't mistakenly give you video that isn't what you thinking you're capturing.

For example, the first time I used it, I didn't know how much contrast I would need from going from air to water (which is sometimes alot). I thought the camera was taking any video...but it was. I wasn't sure so I didn't take as much care in shooting video...on a great shark dive surround by big sand tigers on an NC wreck. When I got topside and saw that all my video came out, perfectly, I could have kicked myself for not shooting better. I learned that it was because I didn't change my OLED contrast.

Personally, I'm glad I have the OLED. It's sharp, big, and contrast adjustable (along with many other settings). It requires separate 4 AAA's to run, whereas my standard monitor did not...that's another difference.
