So I've narrowed down my light to a Sola 800. My question is should I go the dive route or photo route?
Photo light has the red lights
Dive has the spot beam and flood.

Primary use will be photography but will also be using for night dives.
Could I use the photo version as a light for night dives or am I better off going with the dive. And does the red light really make a difference?

Thoughts?

If I were to buy mine again, I'd buy the dive version. I hardly use the red, and in really bad water the flood creates blinding backscatter. I'd like the option of a narrow beam. Some shy creatures are not scared off by the red light. There's plenty of light for a night dive, but use low power or you'll run out of battery before you run out of dive. Raise the power as needed.
