It's been years since I did this class, but when I went through it we practiced with each other and the final the instructors where the victims. Good Luck its a valuable class to take, even if you never work as a lifeguard.

Thanx, we were using 7 to 8 year olds as victims today, and to me they all looked like distressed swimmers. I "rescued" one that apparently didn't need it and got "the look". Maby I'll ask our instructors for some different victims.

It's been years & years since I took mine too, our Instructors were the victims for our final course. During classes, we took turns; I always liked to be unconscious on the bottom of the pool 'till one girl decided to use my beard for a "hair carry". :11:
You may as well keep on going & get your WSI, there are sometimes decent paying jobs for those 1 on 1 swimming classes.

When I did mine, the instructors were the victims.

I later volunteered at my college as the lifeguard on duty with my brother, and my best friend. When everyone else had class, we had access to the pool as long as one of us was on the stand at any given time. Later our friends caught on to what we were doing and joined in the fun. That turned out to be the best semester ever, and I aced my final exams by studying at the pool when I wasn't on the stand.

Yeah, victims are usually other folks in your class, and/or the instructors. Some of those rescue scenarios can get pretty brutal.

Weighted down mannequins are fun too, especially for stuff like submerged drownings in murky water. Good times for all!
