As you might notice i'm getting into the world of computers, fins and other attributes of scuba.

One question bothers me :

I'm aware of 2 types of warranties on computers :
1. Manufactures - not sure what is covered and for how long ( but i think regular limited warranty for 1/2 years)
2. LP - 1 year limited warranty.

Question:
And what will happened after one year ? From my experience, things are love to brake on "warranty+1 week" day...

So what was/is your experience with this.

thank you.

It depends on what is wrong, who the warranter is and I would bet on who you get in contact with and how they feel on that day. Some times what they can do and will do are 2 different things. I had an Oceanic computer that was way out of warranty, at least 2 years out, when it flooded. My LDS sent it to Oceanic at their request and they replaced it with a new one, no questions ask. They had not liability to replace it but they indicated that it was a known manf defect and replaced it at no cost. I suspect Leisure Pro is a lot more rigid on their policy. I will say that the lifetime warranty on regs is mostly useless. If you read it carefully you will find that only parts are covered and the cost of most rebuild kits is $15-40. The rest of the cost, which is the major part, is labor which is not covered. A saving of $100 to $200 on line pays for a lot of rebuild kits.

Thank You , Herman
