Less than two weeks to go! (FGBNMS)

Okay, so I'm excited. The countdown is on for my trip to the Flower Garden Banks National Marine Sanctuary in the Gulf of Mexico. No, it is NOT murky out there. The sanctuary is 110 miles from the Texas/Louisiana coast, so the water is nearly as clear as anywhere in the Carib. I can't wait to see how the reefs are faring this summer after last summer's bleaching. I have pix and video from previous trips, so I'm looking forward to making comparisons. Got my cameras all ready and just watching the NOAA weather site...sure hope that tropical storm clears out before departure date. Heavy waves will scrub the trip.

A buddy of mine was fishing there about a month ago. He said he could see the coral domes from the surface, about 50 feet down. (No, he wasn't throwing lines out over divers.)

hi there! husband and i are booked for the july 20,21st trip. when are you going? i'm getting very excited too. this is our first trip to flower gardens
